Handwashing

I would like to remind everyone that when children are back in school there are many viruses, colds, and common childhood illnesses that are spread more easily because there are so many of us in public areas each day. I know you all realize this but, HANDWASHING really is the best way to prevent the spread of illness and disease!

The other very important habit to notice is whether children are putting their hands or fingers to their face or mouth. If so, a reminder to try not to do so in a public place and a reminder to wash hands properly is our best intervention. I would appreciate everyone reminding their own children and the children in their classrooms.

Regarding Influenza: The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is now recommending influenza vaccination of all school aged children through 18 years of age.

If you would like more information about this new recommendation please ask me, or your primary care physician.

Thank you all for your cooperation.
