FY12 Budget Forums

To insure that parents and the community at large are kept informed regarding the development of the FY12 budget, several forums are planned for the next two weeks.

At the regularly-scheduled School Committee meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 7:30 - 10:30, the elementary principals will be presenting their impact statements to the committee. These statements will outline the impact of the current budget situation on the elementary schools. School committee meetings are open to the public and are held in the School Committee Room, 6th floor, Arlington High School. These meetings are also broadcast live on the local cable station.

A budget forum for elementary parents will be held Thursday, Feb. 10 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm at Thompson. This meeting is sponsored by the Budget Subcommittee of the School Committee. Similar parent forums were held for high school and middle school parents.

A general community hearing on the FY12 budget will be held on Feb.15 starting at 7:30 pm in the high school auditorium. The hearing is a special meeting of the School Committee.
