I am working on the next issue of DeFrancisco's Declarations to share about February and March. Because we had so many snow days and a vacation in February, I have combined February and March.
In the meantime, I wanted you to know that the cars will no longer be parking on the playground. The children will have the space back to play!
AFTER SCHOOL GAME SPACE:
I also wanted to remind families that the large game space is re-opened for after school use. With that said, I am asking for your cooperation as children use this space after-school. Here are the rules that children should follow.
1. All children are able to use this space and should be invited to play
2. The same children should not always be choosing the games for this space
3. The rules of the game being played should be reviewed BEFORE the game is played so that all students are playing under the same understanding.
4. BE KIND.
I am reminding students that games at Hardy are recreational and fun, not a competition.
SPRING FINE ARTS SHOW
Many of you have been asking about the concert for this year. Mr. Ham and Ms. Martin have combined efforts this year and we will be having a spring concert and art show on Thursday, April 16th. The student art work will decorate the halls and parents will be able to view the work before and after the music concert. The concert itself will begin at 9:00 a.m.
ELA MCAS SCHEDULE:
Just a reminder that ELA MCAS begins next week for third, fourth and fifth graders. A good night sleep and a breakfast in the morning is always helpful when testing. The schedule is as follows:
March 31 Third grade session one
April 1 Third grade session two
April 2 Fourth grade long composition
April 9 Fourth grade session one
April 10 Fourth grade session two
April 5 Fifth grade session one
April 6 Fifth grade session two
GIVE ME FIVE CHALLENGE:
On Monday, March 30th we will gather as a school to accept the Give Me Five Challenge from First Lady Michelle Obama. She has challenged the nation and schools to participate in this challenge to get healthy. With the help of Linda Flynn, we will be participating in this challenge. The first lady created a 40 second dance that the school has been learning. We will video the whole school performing this dance. Staff too! Please see the link below to learn more about the Let's Move campaign.
Don't forget to participate in the MELTDOWN COUNTDOWN sponsored by the PTO. You can make a guess about when the snow will be gone from the Hardy School. See the display in the front lobby.
