Holiday Giving Tree is up in the front lobby!!!
The fifth grade class worked hard this morning putting the stars together and up on our giving board.  All of the children that we will be buying for live right here in Arlington and need a little extra cheer.  I know our community can do it!  Please stop by with your children and help them pick out a star or 2 off the beautiful board in the front lobby.  All gifts should be wrapped and returned to the lobby NO LATER THEN TUESDAY DECEMBER 10!  Have fun making someone else's holiday a little brighter….and THANKS!

Any questions…ask Jenn!

Balls, balls and more balls!!!
At the request of our PTO teacher representatives, each classroom was given a bag of balls to use during their own recess time!  Each class received a basketball, soccer ball, mini football and play ground ball.  Jump ropes are also on the way!  Go play kids!!!!

Hardy Celebrates the SEASON OF LIGHT
Ms. deFransisco has received so many compliments about the decorations in the front of the school, that we decided to continue with the beautification of Hardy.  MONDAY DECEMBER 2 at 6:00pm, we will light up the Japanese Gate and the Hardy School sign with beautiful white lights!  All holidays in the month of December involve the celebration of light and we want our community to know that we celebrate with them!  To this end, we will be stringing lights Sunday December 1 from 3-430.  We need a LOT of lights to make it glow, so please consider donating some strands of outdoor white lights to the cause.  You can leave them in the office or find me on the playground!  Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Jenn

THANK YOU!!!!
AYCC came and picked up all of the wonderful food and gift card donations last Friday and were overwhelmed by the generosity of our community.  I am so proud to be a part of this school and you should be too!

A Note from the Prez
The holidays are fast approaching and our community is so very lucky to have the resources we do.  In the next few weeks, we as a community will be helping to feed our neighbors through the Thanksgiving food drive, we will be buying gifts for children in our community who may otherwise not receive presents during the holidays.  There is also the UNICEF collection that is about to wrap up.  All of these amazing, giving gestures deserve acknowledgment and praise.  We are an amazing group of families.  Please take time to enjoy your own families this holiday season and stay warm.  If you would like to help out with any of our giving endeavors, please let me know and I'll point you in the right direction.  Thank you for all of your generosity.

Cheers,
Jenn Irvine

HAPPY HOE DOWNERS!!
Thank you for making the Hardy Hoe Down a fun and successful night! The 3rd Grade sponsored event drew in over 200 people and over 500 cookies to snack on! Thanks to all the volunteers (92% of which were from 3rd Grade families!) who made the night run very smoothly!   A Hootin' good time was had by all!
