Hello everyone!

I hope that you all enjoyed Back-To-School night as well as the Harvest Fest. Please thank Moya Charig for all her wonderful work for the Harvest Fest when you see her. The rain held off and we were unable to keep up with the cider doughnut consumption. Next year, we will be prepared to offer 5 dozen every half hour! Also, thank you to Jen Roderick for running Picture Day so smoothly. Here are a few dates and deadlines to keep an eye on in the next couple of weeks.

Thurs. Oct. 15 PTO Directory deadline! See below for details if you have yet to provide your family’s information.

Fri. Oct. 16th Premier of Goosebumps movie at the Capitol Theatre. See attachment below for details.

Tues. Nov. 3rd 6:30-8 p.m. PTO meeting. All are welcome.

Mon. Nov. 16th-Fri. Nov. 20th Book Fair. Stay tuned for the upcoming sign-up genius.

Also, be on the look-out in your child’s backpack this week for the PTO Appeal letter. If it somehow does not make it home, it is available on the Hardy website under the PTO tab.

PTO Directory Information
You have until Thursday, Oct 15th to enter any new or corrected information for the Hardy School Directory. The Hardy School PTO directory is printed once a year and includes names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of Hardy families. It's very helpful when planning play dates, birthday parties or when you need to get in touch with another Hardy School family. Participation is voluntary and the full directory will be distributed to all Hardy School families. If you are a new family at Hardy, were missing from last year's directory or need to correct your family information please visit Hardy School Directory 2015-2016 to provide the proper information. The form is also available on the PTO page of the Hardy School Web site.

Welcome back returning parents and welcome all new parents,

I hope that these past two weeks have gone well for all. It's always a bit hectic getting back into the swing of school and activities, but it's nice to once again have a schedule. The PTO has a few events coming up, and I wanted to make sure that if you had time, you could join us for some of these. I apologize if you missed this past Tuesday’s PTO meeting. I thought that I had sent a post out last week, but it ended up in my drat folder. Not to worry, we have another meeting in a couple of weeks and all the meeting notes can be found on the Hardy School website. Here is a list of events with a little blurb about them.

Fri. 9/18, 6-7:30 p.m. Ice-Cream Social Please join us for our ice-cream social. For a dollar, you will get a bowl in which either our 5th graders or our Hardy teachers will scoop any flavor of Chilly Cow ice-cream you desire. Seconds and more are encouraged. All are welcome to our first PTO sponsored event.

Thurs. 10/1 Picture day! Please contact Jen Roderick to help her organize the children (jennifer_roderick@hotmail.com).​

Sat. 10/3, afternoon Harvest Fest Please come pick a pumpkin and enjoy some cider and donuts. Moya Charig needs help with this event. Please contact her to lend a hand (moya_charig@hotmail.com).

Tues. 10/6, 6:30-8 p.m. PTO meeting in the Hardy library (2nd floor). All are welcome. The PTO cannot function without parents. Please join us if you can for this meeting. This is not a commitment to make every single last meeting and participate in every single last event. If you cannot make the meeting but would like to be involved, please let us know. You can find us at the Hardy school website.

Thurs. 10/8, 6-7:30 p.m.  Back to School Night  If you need a babysitter, make sure to book him/her now as this is an adult only event! More details forthcoming from Ms. DeFrancisco.

If your son is interested in Cub Scouts, there will be an informational meeting on Friday 9/18 at 7 p.m. See attached flyer.

If your daughter is interested in Girl Scouts, there will be an informational meeting on Thurs. 9/24. See attached flyer.

This is a special message from our previous PTO Treasurer:

Help the PTO File their Taxes
Your previous PTO co-treasurers are looking for a parent volunteer to file the Hardy PTO tax returns (Form 990EZ). The PTO pays a CPA approximately $400 every year to file what we think is basic tax forms. If a CPA offered pro bono services, it would be a huge benefit to us, and we could spend that $400 on our kids and teachers/staff.

Tues. 9/15, 6:30-8 p.m. PTO meeting in the Hardy library (2nd floor). All are welcome. The PTO cannot function without parents. Please join us if you can for this meeting.
