I hope that you all had a wonderful Halloween and took advantage of the Halloween Candy Buy Back program if you were overwhelmed with candy. Also, please turn in your UNICEF boxes if you haven’t done so.
We are still in need of a 3rd grade VP. Please contact me if you have any interest. We have board members ready to help you out. Your role would be to be the liaison between the room parents and the PTO.
Thank you to all room parents who have been attending the PTO meetings. And please remember that ALL PARENTS are welcome to PTO meetings.
Now that we are looking forward to Thanksgiving, I would like to invite you to contribute to the food drivetaking place at our school to benefit local families. Please read through the information below.
Also, happening next week will be our very own Hardy School Book Fair! Please help out in any way that you can (as a volunteer, as a baker for our Starbooks Café, …); this is a great way to make new friends. Sign up!
Lastly, we would like feedback about the new vendor we used for school pictures. Please follow the link below and fill out the mini-survey. The survey is on the upper left hand corner on the main page of the Hardy PTO website.

Thanksgiving Food Drive for Arlington Families
Hardy School students will be joining the Board of Youth Services in their Annual Food Drive at Thanksgiving time, to provide Thanksgiving food and food staples to Arlington families who may need community support this year.
Students are asked to bring in food items and/or gift cards to allow families to purchase Thanksgiving items at local supermarkets. The food and gift cards will be collected and distributed according to family size. This year the Board of Youth Services is collaborating with the Arlington Food Pantry, Food Link Inc. and Arlington Eats to provide food that best suits the needs of the community. Fresh food donations are welcome and encouraged!
All food items should be dropped off in the main lobby of school in the boxes provided. Please put Gift Cards to Stop and Shop, Whole Foods or Market Basket in an envelope and give to the school secretary in the main office. Gift Cards allow families to buy a turkey or other foods that are part of their family’s traditions.
Please see the attached flyer for fresh food suggestions (drop off November 18th or 19th) and non-perishable suggestions.
*** Please check for outdated food – outdated food cannot be given away***
All donated items must be received by Thursday, November 19, 2015.
Thank you for your generosity!
